Over 450 people from Jefferson County and across the Iowa filled the Sondheim Theatre in the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center for the JFAN Annual Meeting, Breaking the Grip of Corporate Agriculture on Rural Iowa on Thursday, October 19, 2017. Award-winning agricultural columnist Alan Guebert keynoted the meeting. Joining him were Johnson County Supervisor Mike Carberry, University of Missouri Professor Emeritus Dr. John Ikerd, and Fairfield attorney and JFAN legal counsel David E. Sykes.
JFAN President and Executive Director Diane Rosenberg, and JFAN Board member Dean Draznin, CEO and founder of Draznin Communications also spoke.
Many Iowans traveled hours to attend the meeting, coming from as far away as Osceola County in Northwest Iowa and Cerro Gordo County near the Minnesota border to Hardin, Poweshiek, Boone, Henry, Linn Counties and others.
